New England Mountain Bike Association
Meeting held 8/3/2021 7:00PM in person Morse Tavern Coventry RI, 10 members in attendance.
Browning Mill Bridge Project August 21st at 8:00 am· No more than 10 people needed
· Can complete in one day
· Participants must have signed waiver to contribute
· Alan submitted required paperwork for approval
Food Bank
· Alan Windsor was winner of the raffle prize for the house in North Conway
· All proceeds were donated to the food bank.
· Total amt donated was over $1,000
In regards to upcoming events:
· The following events will be held as of this meeting:
o Arcadia Fun Ride Sept 18
§ Shannon, Dennis, and Nick will organize
o Big River Fun Ride Oct 2
· Requirements for rides
o No more than 75 participants. Bikereg to be used to control attendance. Wrist bands may be issued to registered riders for DEM purposes.
o We cannot control the amount of attendees who may be using the area outside our fun ride but we can use the wrist bands to show DEM that only those are included in our number
o Mrs. Fish request for a memorial at the site was declined by DEM.
o We will continue the “donation to ride” theme and will chose a recipient of the funds donated prior to the ride.
Insurance
o Still in process with Wayne and NEMBA
Ambassadors for riding areas
o It was discussed on appointing ambassadors to riding areas so that only one person would liaison with DEM or Parks and Rec to discuss any issues with that particular area.
o The idea is to reduce the amount of people dealing with each area and streamline discussions with DEM and Park and Rec.
o A post will be created to invite anyone who would like to be considered for appointment.
o Discussion to continue on how to divide areas and which areas should be included.
o Nominees will be addressed at next meeting.
Trail School
o The board and members have decided to pay for up to 5 people interested in attending trail school.
o This will be the school portion only.
o Lodging and transportation will be up to the attendee.
o The participant must be an active member of NEMBA.
o The school will be held in NH.
o All applicants will be considered and assigned at next meeting.
o School will be held Sept 25, 2021
Womens Summit
o Planning for the 2022 women’s summit is being held in Carrabassett Valley Maine Aug 13-15, 2021
o Shannon Lonardo to attend and gather information to offer at the next meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 9 pm. Next meeting to be held on Tuesday September 7th, 2021 at 7pm.
Location of meeting at this time remains Morse Tavern on Tiogue Ave in Coventry.
