Wilderness First Aid Training

RINEMBA is pleased to announce the availability of online Wilderness First Aid training through The School of First Aid (https://firstfivefirstaid.com/save-time-and-money.../). This course includes self-paced video presentations plus a textbook and a mobile app. You have the choice of either a completion certificate for $81 or official WFA certification for $176 (which includes a 90 minute Zoom-based knowledge/skills test). These prices are 10% off list by using coupon code WFA10 during checkout (you don't need to be a RINEMBA member to take advantage of the course or the discount). In addition to the regular WFA training, we encourage you to take the Bleeding Control and "hands only" CPR courses (https://firstfivefirstaid.com/.../free-first-aid.../). All together, these three courses would be a roughly 20 hour time commitment that might save someone's life.

When you complete the course, please email alanwinsor@gmail.com to be eligible for one of three thank-you gifts: being able to advertise a large number of trained riders will help with our ability to get permission for events from land managers.

Wait, there’s more! If there’s enough interest, we will hold an add-on event (date and location TBD) for NEMBA members where you would get to practice some of your new skills on each other. We would have EMTs on hand to assist, plus the W.G. Fire Department has indicated they would attend – they would share the official rescue side, and we could share our MTB side. Include your interest in this in your completion email.

We're including here what we think are some of the most common scenarios we might see as mountain bikers so you can pay special attention to those training topics (see also https://heidenortho.com/.../uploads/2020/08/mtb-injuries.png).
